Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Sardis Methodist Church online. We hope that our website highlights the wide variety of worship, fellowship and service opportunities available. Please feel free to read more about our church on this site, or come in for a visit. We would love to greet you and share with you our love for Jesus Christ and for you, our neighbor.

Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

This will enable us to move forward with the work to be completed in the Fellowship Hall. Any item not claimed or that appears to have no current use, may be discarded.  Contact a trustee member for comments or clarification.

A Message from the Pastor

Our Help and Salvation is in The Lord

I believe that the one thing that God wants the most from His children, the disciples of Christ, is our attention. He wants our main focus to be Him. He wants us to call on Him when we are in need, and He wants us to join in on His work which is focused on saving people from destruction, the destruction brought on by the work of Satan. So, we are to join in the work of negating or reversing Satan’s destructive work in the lives of God’s beloved creatures that He created for the purpose of receiving His love and in return loving Him.
How do we fight against Satan’s destructive work? It is by helping others get their focus on the love and goodness of God. Every Christian who loves God has learned to call on Him when the enemies of God attack His children because we know that when we call on God those enemies are in trouble, they’re ineffective and their attacks are impotent. To those who haven’t learned that lesson definitively, Satan whispers in their ears the discouraging words that say don’t call, don’t ask, don’t depend on
God to do amazing things in your life. The devil tells them that they will do fine relying on their own cleverness, their own energy, their own power. Satan whispers those discouraging words meant to keep us from calling on the Lord because the devil is not afraid of our human efforts, but Satan knows that his evil intentions will suffer defeat if we lift our
eyes, our hearts, and our voices to God. Satan knows God’s word and
God’s character that says He sets apart Godly people for Himself and that He hears them when they call on Him. (Psalm 4:3) Satan may not fear us without God, but he knows the fear of God when we ignore his discouraging whispers and call on God to empower us.
So, “The people who call on the Lord” is a divine definition of “Godly people”. Likewise, “The people who do not call on the Lord”, is the divine definition of “ungodly people”. This may seem odd, but trouble, while on this earth, does us a service in motivating us to become Godly people because it reminds us that we need the Lord and to call on Him. God’s word reminds us to call on Him in our times of trouble. Spiritual revivals always begin with the inward and desperate groanings of men whose eyes and hearts have been lifted up to initiate their call on the Lord for salvation.
